Terms & Conditions

By enrolling your child at Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd, you accept these terms and conditions (“Terms & Conditions”) and sign your agreement to them as an ongoing agreement between you and Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd (“Agreement”).

The Agreement is made between the parent/guardian (“Parent”, “you” or “your”) of each enrolled pupil (“pupil”) by a Parent and Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd (“Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd “, “we”, “our”, “us”) and is valid at all times whilst the pupil is enrolled on any Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd activity and until such time as written notice is given in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

Introduction

  • These Terms & Conditions apply to all Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd Classes, Courses, Holiday Workshops/Camps, Workshops and any additional products and/or services offered by Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd in the future for any pupil.
  • For participation of a pupil in a Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd Classes, Courses, Holiday Workshops/Camps, Workshops and any additional products and/or services all Parents are required to consent to these Terms & Conditions by a signature on the enrolment form or by ticking the acceptance box for these Terms & Conditions when making an online purchase. We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
  • When you book or purchase any product or service from us, you are signifying your agreement to these Terms and Conditions.  It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with them before you book or purchase any product or service from us.
  • We reserve the right to modify, cancel or append to these Terms and Conditions. The current Terms and Conditions always appear here on our Website. On renewal of classes or purchase of any product or service, the most recent Terms and Conditions shall apply.
  • A “Course” refers to a course of classes offering tuition in dance, drama, and singing which will be delivered during the Term. Course classes will take place during the week for a certain number of hours, as detailed at the time of booking.
  • “Holiday Workshop/Camp” refers to Workshops run by Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd during the breaks between Terms.
  • “Principal” refers to the principal of Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd.
  • “Term” refers to one normal school academic term during which Courses are run.
  • “Term Dates” refers to the dates for the relevant Term.
  • “Workshop” refers to a one-off course offering tuition in dance, drama, singing and/or other performing arts related activities which will be delivered for a certain number of hours per day for a period of between one (1) and five (5) consecutive days and can run at any time throughout the year.

Weekly Classes

Enrolment

  • To apply for a place for a new pupil, the parent must agree to these Terms & Conditions and complete the necessary enrolment form.
  • Each pupil’s place is allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
  • If we are unable to accept a pupil due to capacity reasons, the pupil may be placed on a waiting list.

Fees

  • Fees are calculated on a termly basis.
  • Fees will be reviewed annually.
  • Payment is due by the fourteenth day from when the invoice was issued.
  • Pupils are expected to attend all classes and an invoice will be raised for the whole term.
  • Students who enroll midway through a term will have their fees calculated on a pro-rata basis.
  • Fees must be paid in full, subject to any alternative agreements made with the Principal, by one of the following methods where offered:
    – Bank Transfer
    – Cheque
    – Cash

4. LATE PAYMENT OF FEES

4.1 The Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd reserves the right to charge a late payment fee if an invoice remains unpaid after the payment date shown on the invoice.

4.2 Any fees not paid by the payment date shown on the invoice will result in a 10% fee being added.

4.3 The payer will receive both verbal and written notice if payment has not been received in accordance with these terms and conditions.

4.4 If an invoice has not been paid by the payment date shown on the invoice, the pupil will not be admitted to any class until the invoice has been paid in full.

4.5 The Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd reserves the right at any time during term to ask pupils to leave a class if fees remain outstanding after the payment date shown on the invoice.

5. DISCOUNTS

5.1 Limited discounts are available in certain circumstances. 

5.2 Pupils who attend three or more weekly group classes qualify for a 10% discount. This discount will be added to the termly invoice.

5.3 The discount will be reversed if payment for the terms fees is not received in accordance with Clause 3.3

6. MISSED SESSIONS

6.1 In the event that a pupil is unable to attend any lesson, due to sickness, holiday or a decision by the parent or pupil not to attend, no refunds or make-up lessons will be offered.

6.2 If a scheduled class is cancelled due to sickness of the teacher, a health epidemic/pandemic, extreme weather or any other seen or unforeseen events, the Academy will endeavour to reschedule the class. This may be on a different day or a different time or both from when the class was originally scheduled and might involve an extension to existing class times. No refunds will be given in this case.

6.2 If scheduled classes are unable to go ahead for a sustained period of time, due to a health epidemic/pandemic, extreme weather or any other seen or unforeseen events. The Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd reserves the right to move these classes online via Zoom in order for the classes to continue.

7. NOTICE TO LEAVE

7.1 Unless otherwise notified in writing by you before the last day of the academic term, a pupil is automatically re-enrolled for the following term.

7.2 Notice must be given in writing by the end of the academic term if your child wishes to stop attending any class

7.3 Failure to provide notice by the last day of term will result in 50% of the terms fees being charged at the start of the new term.

8. UNIFORM

8.1 Pupils must always wear the correct uniform for each class they attend.

8.3 Hair to be tied back and off the pupils face.

8.4 A classical bun hair styled for all ballet classes.

9. PERSONAL PROPERTY

9.1 Pupils are obliged to take care of their own belongings. Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd accepts no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

9.2 All items of clothing, footwear and personal items should be named.

10. DISCIPLINE

10.1 Pupils are always expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner whilst attending classes and be respectful to both teachers and fellow pupils.

10.2 The Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd may, at its own discretion, refuse a pupil entry to a lesson, or ask a pupil to leave a lesson if it is felt that the pupil’s behaviour is unacceptable.

10.3 Mobile phones must be turned off or switched to silent when pupil attend lessons.

11. EXAMS

11.1 Pupils have the opportunity to be entered for IDTA and LAMDA examinations at the Principal’s discretion.

11.2 All candidates must have the principal’s approval before entrance to any exam and we ask that parents and pupils respect our decisions regarding exam entries.

11.3 Examinations are not compulsory, and should a pupil not wish to take an exam, they are able to progress to the next grade when an acceptable standard is reached.

11.4 Examination entry may require extra lessons to which attendance is normally required. A set fee will be charged for these additional lessons and payment must be made prior to the day of the exam.

12. COMPETITIONS AND PERFORMANCES

12.1 Participation in competitions and performances is not compulsory.

12.2 If your child has been invited to participate, and you accept, you are to show full attendance and will be expected to attend and pay for additional classes in this subject leading up to the competition or performance date.

12.3 Failure to attend may result in your child being removed from the event.

13. HEALTH AND SAFETY

13.1 Pupils participate at their own risk and are obliged to inform Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd and its staff of any existing injuries or medical condition. All application forms must have any known medical conditions stated and any changes to such information must be notified to Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd immediately in writing.

13.2 If you are unsure whether your child should participate in any class because of illness or injury, please consult your child’s GP before enrolling or taking part.

13.3 Any medication brought onto the school premises must be clearly labelled and the pupil should, unless Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd has agreed in writing otherwise, be able to administer it themselves.

13.4 If a pupil is unwell or has an accident requiring emergency treatment, the Parent will be contacted via the emergency contact details provided below or on the enrolment form. This number must always be contactable whilst the pupil is attending the Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd.

13.5 Parents are solely responsible for ensuring that the emergency contact details on Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd’s records are up to date.

13.6 Parents should be aware that due to the nature of dance it is necessary for the teacher to use physical contact when training young dancers.

14. FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

14.1 Pupils may on occasions be photographed or filmed during class and performances unless you chose to opt out of this when completing the enrolment form.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS

15. BOOKINGS

15.1 Places in our workshops are subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.

15.2 The dates and costs of holiday workshops and valid payment methods are available on our website.

15.3 All bookings for holiday workshops to be made online via the Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd website.

15.4 Bookings for a specific workshop are not transferable to another participant.

16. CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

16.1 If you have booked a holiday workshop and you now wish to cancel:

  1. If you inform us more than three weeks before the commencement of the Holiday Workshop, we will credit the full amount paid, minus a £25 administrative fee for each child enrolled.
  2. If you inform us between one and three weeks before the commencement of the Holiday Workshop, you will forfeit 50% of the amount paid. We will credit Your Account with the other 50%.
  3. If you inform us less than one week before the commencement of the Holiday Workshop, you will forfeit the entire amount paid for the Holiday Workshop.
  4. No refunds or exchanges will be issued once a Holiday Workshop has commenced.

16.2 If you have booked a Holiday Workshop and, before it commences, you inform us you wish to change your booking from one Holiday Workshop to another in the same holiday period, subject to availability, the payment of any difference in cost and our complete discretion, you may do so without financial penalty.

17. PERSONAL PROPERTY

9.1 Children attending Holiday Workshops are obliged to take care of their own belongings. Rosy Thompson Academy of Dance Ltd accept no liability for lost or damaged belongings.
